Ministry of Commons

In addition to the Nightfall Council, the Ministry of Commons control the flow of information to the Mirrin public. They are a subversive group of information brokers and fifth columnists that dole out erroneous information in such a way that the Mirrin masses are forced to make decision and take favorable political stances that ensure that the cult of the dark gods and the goals of the Nightfall Council are kept at the forefront of the public eye.         Base of Operations: Mirr, Mirrok Commonly known info: The voice of the people! The will of the Doctrine! The ministry watches over everyone and everything in Mirrok, keeping the people safe from the dangerous influences of outsiders who seek only to destroy everything the proud people of Mirrok have struggled to build, to deny them the dream of self-realization! The Ministry tells us that Mirrok alone can guide mankind to its destiny that hardships are necessary to reach the common goal of a utopian society where the people want for nothing, where wealth is shared freely. They tell us that you too can share the dream, the vision. Believe in your faith and your country and it will all be yours. Goals and Ideals: The ultimate goal of the Ministry is to keep the public as misinformed and distracted as possible. They must keep the common man focused on two things and two things only, devotion to country and devotion to the Doctrine. To question is to doubt, to doubt is to betray. An open mind is open only to perversions and heresy. Faith is Unity, to deny faith is to destroy unity. Leadership: The Minister of Commons sits on the Nightfall Council and advises its members on the findings of its members as well as constructing stories, rumor and other forms of disinformation to keep the populace productive and happy, despite the horrors going on around them. An essential part of the Basilica's operation, its members are not always trusted, particularly because they are almost all followers of the god Lazzill. Behind the Curtain Information: Technically a part of the Nightfall Council, the Ministry of Commons is a more public face of the order and deals mainly with matters of the subversion of outside influences in Mirrok. They are in charge of propaganda and ensuring that public opinion always casts the government and the Church of the Doctrine in a favorable light. They keep a close watch on anyone of power or influence in the country, citizen or otherwise and make advisements on who is taken for religious services (kidnapped and sacrificed). Usually anyone selected is seen as some sort of trouble maker or potential threat. It is the political brain of the Basilica making certain the public remains complacent and obedient.
