Fixer
The Fixer is a rogue who specializes in networks, resources, and social manipulation. They are masters of acquiring information, equipment, and favors through an extensive web of contacts. Whether it's procuring rare items, gathering critical intel, or smoothing over a delicate negotiation, the Fixer is the behind-the-scenes catalyst for success.
Fixer Features
Network of Contacts
3rd-level Fixer feature
You have cultivated a network of contacts who provide you with information and assistance. You gain proficiency in the Persuasion skill. If you are already proficient, you may choose to gain proficiency in one of the following skills instead: Deception, Insight, or Investigation.
Additionally, you can spend time interacting with your network to gather information or resources. After spending at least one hour in a populated area, you can make a Charisma (Persuasion) check to accomplish one of the following tasks:
Gather Rumors: Learn local news, secrets, or information pertinent to your current objectives.
Acquire Equipment: Locate a merchant or individual who can provide non-magical equipment, including items not commonly available for purchase.
Request Favors: Secure minor assistance from a contact, such as access to restricted areas or temporary use of facilities.
The DC for these checks is determined by the DM based on the difficulty of the request.
Resourceful Procurement
3rd-level Fixer feature
Your knack for finding what you need grants you advantages when acquiring goods. When you make a Charisma (Persuasion) or Intelligence (Investigation) check to locate or purchase items, you can add double your proficiency bonus to the roll (this replaces your normal proficiency bonus).
Additionally, you can secure a discount on goods and services. When purchasing items, you can attempt a Charisma (Persuasion) check against a DC set by the DM to reduce the cost by up to 50%.
Smooth Operator
9th-level Fixer feature
Your skill in social situations allows you to navigate complex interactions with ease. You have advantage on Charisma checks when dealing with non-hostile creatures who are indifferent or friendly toward you.
In addition, when you make a Charisma (Deception), Charisma (Intimidation), or Charisma (Persuasion) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.
Black Market Connections
13th-level Fixer feature
Your connections extend into the black market and other shadowy networks. You can acquire rare or illegal items, including uncommon magical items, through your contacts. The time and cost to obtain such items are at the DM's discretion.
Furthermore, when you use your Network of Contacts feature, you can request more significant favors, such as:
Procure Uncommon Magical Items: Locate and purchase uncommon magic items without the usual downtime.
Arrange Safe Passage: Secure travel through dangerous territories or bypass certain obstacles.
Obtain Confidential Information: Gain access to secrets typically guarded by powerful individuals or organizations.
Master of Influence
17th-level Fixer feature
Your ability to influence others reaches its peak. You can cast the suggestion spell at will, without expending a spell slot or material components. The spell's DC is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier.
Additionally, when you make a Charisma ability check, you can spend one use of this feature to gain advantage on the roll. You have a number of uses of this feature equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Roleplaying the Fixer
As a Fixer, you thrive on connections and leverage. Your value lies not in brute strength but in the doors you can open and the obstacles you can remove through cunning and negotiation. Consider how you interact with others and the reputation you cultivate. Are you a beloved figure whose favors are eagerly returned, or do you manipulate others, caring little for the consequences?
